Big Red is the last and biggest sand-dune that needs to be crossed if you're coming into Birdsville via the Simpson Desert. (Or the first if you're beginning your Simpson Desert crossing at Birdsville.)

The Dune is claimed to be 90 metres (295 feet) high. This photo doesn't really do it justice.
