The place was "booked out" that night, as Glenn Ridge (host of the TV game show "Sale of the Century") was filming a documentary on the Birdsville Track and had reserved all the rooms for he and his crew.

We really wanted to stay and wait for them to arrive (in the hope of getting on film), but in the end we had leave if we were to have any chance of making it into Birdsville, Queensland while we still had daylight.
